Who should take the test?

Do you suffer from frequent nasal congestion, watery eyes, or even asthma? If these symptoms occur especially between the months of February and October, a pollen allergy could be the cause. Pollen are tiny particles of flower pollen from trees, shrubs, grasses, and grains. They are carried by the wind or insects from one plant to another. Some plants (like rye) release up to 4 million pollen grains per spike and can travel hundreds of kilometers. For allergy sufferers, they can trigger severe symptoms.

The Outdoor & Pollen Allergy Test analyzes the following allergens:

  • Ragweed, Bahia grass, Mugwort, Birch
  • Fig tree, Alder, Goosefoot, Grass mix
  • Hazelnut, Foxtail grass, Olive, Poplar
  • Rye, Plantain
  • Cocksfoot grass, and Cypress

With our Outdoor & Pollen Allergy Test, you’ll find out which allergens you react to. With this knowledge, you can better estimate pollen flight times and navigate through particularly critical periods more effectively.

Any Questions?

Here are some of the most frequently asked questions regarding this test. Your question is missing? Please contact us at:

What symptoms are associated with pollen allergy?

The symptoms vary. Common symptoms include a runny or congested nose, watery and itchy eyes, frequent sneezing, coughing leading to difficulty breathing, or rash. Depending on the specific plant allergens one reacts to, the symptoms tend to be particularly severe at certain times (during the pollen's flight season). Typically, symptoms are much better indoors than outdoors.

Can one suddenly develop a pollen allergy?

Yes. While hay fever often starts in childhood, adults can also suddenly exhibit typical allergy symptoms in spring and summer.

What is included in the Outdoor & Pollen Allergy Test?

The Outdoor & Pollen Allergy Test analyzes your body's reaction to common outdoor allergens such as pollen from trees, grasses, and weeds.

What should I do if I test positive for pollen allergies?

If you test positive for pollen allergies, it's essential to discuss the results with your healthcare provider. They can recommend personalized treatment options, including medications, allergen avoidance strategies, and immunotherapy, to help manage your symptoms effectively.

I am not getting enough blood from my finger, what can I do?

Ensure optimal conditions for the blood draw: Hold your hand under warm water for an extended period and gently rotate your arm to enhance blood circulation. When pricking the finger, aim for the side rather than the direct top of the fingertip. Typically, the middle or ring finger of the non-dominant hand is most suitable. While piercing, place your finger on a stable surface to prevent reflexive withdrawal. Applying a gentle squeeze and massaging towards the fingertip can facilitate blood flow.
