Who should take the test?

You have problems with losing weight despite having tried multiple diets already? You are doing lots of sports but don’t feel well with it and are also not really getting any fitter? Your energy level is not as high as it used to be? The Metabolic Typing Test might be able to help you determine the root causes for these issues!

Your Metabolic Type will be determined based on the following markers:

  • (Total) Cholesterol
  • HDL protein
  • LDL protein
  • Triglycerides
  • Total-Cholesterol-to-HDL-Ratio

Depending on the different levels as well as their ratios, we will be able to determine your Metabolic Type. Based on that, customized nutritional and fitness plans can be developed that will make weight loss easier and increase your energy levels.

How does it work?

You collect a dried blood spot sample from the comfort of your home, send it to our lab for analysis and we will send you your results via email, including detailed information about your Metabolic Type.

What will my results tell me?

Once your Metabolic Type has been determined, you will receive general recommendations for therapy from us with regards to your diet and fitness regime. You can then discuss the results with your doctor or health practitioner, who can give you further guidance and treatment recommendations.

What guidance will I get along with my results?

We always recommend the discussion of the mailed results with your doctor or practitioner. Besides, further information is available on our website, especially in the different test categories, under “health conditions” and the FAQs. Still have questions? Then you can contact us by mail at

Test measures
For the Metabolic Typing Test we analyze:
  • (Total) Cholesterol
  • HDL protein
  • LDL protein
  • Triglycerides
  • Total-Cholesterol-to-HDL-Ratio
(Total) Cholesterol

Cholesterol is a fatty compound that is essential for the functioning of our bodes. Cholesterol is being transported in the blood in the form of lipo-protein compounds – so-called HDL and LDL. “Total Cholesterol” measures the full amount of cholesterol in the blood, including all different components. High cholesterol levels can indicate a higher risk of cardiovascular diseases. It shall be noted that Total Cholesterol levels should be interpreted alongside the individual components (see below).

HDL Protein

HDL (High-density lipo-protein) transports excess cholesterol from the body into the liver, from where it can be disposed. It is for this reason that HDL is also commonly referred to as the “good” cholesterol. High HDL levels indicate a lower risk of being affected by atherosclerosis.

LDL protein

LDL (Low-density lipo-protein) transports cholesterol from the liver into our body. Since this cholesterol might then be deposited and remain in our arteries, LDL is also commonly referred to as the “bad” cholesterol. High LDL levels can indicate an increased risk of atherosclerosis.

Trigylcerides are the dominant form of fat in our bodies and play an important role in our metabolism and as a source of energy. Triglycerides are circulating in our blood flow in order to instantly provide energy or to be stored in the adipose tissue for future energy production. Usually, Triglyceride levels are lowest after fasting and highest after food intake.

The Total-Cholesterol-to-HDL-Ratio indicates the risk of being affected by strokes or heart attacks. The lower the ratio, the lower is the risk.

Based on the above levels and their relative ratios, the lab test determines one of the following Metabolic Types for you:

Carbohydrate-Efficient Metabolic Type

Within this type, you should consume a larger share of carbs-rich foods (as opposed to fats and proteins). The focus of your physical activities should be on endurance exercises.

Protein- & Fat-efficient Metabolic Type

Within this type, you should consume a larger share of protein- and fat-rich foods (as opposed to carbs). The focus of your physical activities should be on strength and lifting exercises.

Dual Metabolic Type

Within this type, most or all of your markers are within a normal range. Therefore, a balanced diet, consisting of carbs, healthy fat and proteins works best for you. In terms of sports, a mix of endurance and strength/lifting is recommended.

Symptoms the Metabolic Typing Test is suitable for:
  • Overweight & problems with weight loss
  • Chronic fatigue & tiredness
  • Large blood sugar fluctuations (e.g. being very tired in the afternoons and/or after meals)
  • Low energy levels & vitality
  • Severe exhaustion after sports and physical activities

Results came back fast and everything was the way I expected it to be. I’m just starting my new diet right now, so I don’t have final results yet, but it’s looking good so far. The test is not as expensive as similar tests from other labs, but still a lott of money.

Easy sample collection. Thought it would be hard, but it’s actually pretty easy and the instructions were really helpful. Plus the results came back fast and now I’m starting on a new diet and can’t wait to see how it goes.

I did a 2 month challenge, using a die plan based on the results of this test. Lost 10 pounds! Actually I didn’t expect much, so this blew me away. I can absolutely recommend this test. But you should have a nutritionist or diet coach at hand to help you come up with a diet plan. At least it’s easier that way.

I’m a professional health coach and use this test for my clients. It’s easy, fast and the results help me finding the right diet for my clients, regarding their individual metabolic type. They loose more weight and get fit faster than the ones without an individual plan based on this test, so in my opinion it’s totally worth the money

Any Questions?

Here are some of the most frequently asked questions regarding this test. Your question is missing? Please contact us at:

What exactly is the Metabolic Typing Test and how does it work?

The Metabolic Typing Test is a comprehensive assessment based on blood spot samples analyzing key markers such as (Total) Cholesterol, HDL protein, LDL protein, Triglycerides, and Total-Cholesterol-to-HDL-Ratio. These markers help determine an individual's metabolic type, which influences how their body processes nutrients and responds to different types of exercise.

How can the Metabolic Typing Test benefit me?

The test provides valuable insights into your unique metabolic profile, helping to tailor personalized diet and fitness plans. Whether you struggle with weight loss despite trying various diets, feel unsatisfied with your current fitness regimen, or experience low energy levels, identifying your metabolic type can pinpoint the root causes and guide you towards effective solutions.

Is the Metabolic Typing Test suitable for athletes or individuals with specific fitness goals?

Yes, the test is beneficial for athletes and anyone with specific fitness objectives. By understanding your metabolic type, you can optimize your training regimen to enhance performance, build muscle, and improve endurance, ensuring that your efforts align with your body's unique needs and capabilities.

What does the metabolic type have to do with weight problems?

Depending on the metabolic type, our body can use different food groups (e.g. carbohydrates) better than others. If you eat against your own metabolic type, it can lead to being overweight. The right diet also has an impact on the performance of your body.

Do I get a nutrition plan with the test result?

No. The test gives you information about which metabolic type you belong to and which food group your body can use particularly well. Based on the results, you can then meet up with a nutrition coach who can draw up an appropriate plan.
