Who should take the test?

Are you suffering from depressive moods, exhaustion, or changes in weight? Have you undergone numerous examinations without identifying the cause of your symptoms? Then inflammation or autoimmune thyroid disease could be the reason!

Elevated concentrations of aTPO indicate inflammatory thyroid conditions often associated with autoimmune diseases such as Hashimoto’s thyroiditis or Graves’ disease.

Test measures
For the Hashimoto Test we analyze:

TPO is the crucial enzyme in the formation of the thyroid hormones T3 and T4. The analysis of thyroid autoantibody (aTPO) is a sensitive method for detecting autoimmune thyroid diseases, where TPO is constantly broken down by the body. Elevated concentrations of aTPO indicate inflammatory thyroid conditions often associated with autoimmune diseases such as Hashimoto’s thyroiditis or Graves’ disease.

Symptoms the Hashimoto Test is suitable for:
  • Fatigue
  • Sleep disturbances

Any Questions?

Here are some of the most frequently asked questions regarding this test. Your question is missing? Please contact us at:

What is the purpose of the Hashimoto Test?

The Hashimoto Test is designed to detect the presence of aTPO antibodies, which are indicative of autoimmune thyroid diseases such as Hashimoto's thyroiditis and Graves' disease.

Who should consider taking the Hashimoto Test?

Individuals experiencing symptoms such as fatigue, weight changes, sensitivity to cold, sleep disturbances, and others associated with thyroid disorders may benefit from the Hashimoto Test, especially if previous investigations have not identified the cause.

What do elevated levels of aTPO antibodies in the Hashimoto Test indicate?

Elevated levels of aTPO antibodies in the Hashimoto Test suggest the presence of autoimmune thyroid diseases, which involve inflammation of the thyroid gland. This information can provide important insights into conditions such as Hashimoto's thyroiditis and Graves' disease.

What should I do if my Hashimoto Test results show elevated levels of aTPO antibodies?

If your Hashimoto Test results indicate elevated levels of aTPO antibodies, it is recommended to consult with your healthcare professional, preferably an endocrinologist or a primary care physician specializing in thyroid disorders. They can further evaluate your condition, provide a diagnosis, and recommend appropriate treatment options.

I am not getting enough blood from my finger, what can I do?

Ensure optimal conditions for the blood draw: Hold your hand under warm water for an extended period and gently rotate your arm to enhance blood circulation. When pricking the finger, aim for the side rather than the direct top of the fingertip. Typically, the middle or ring finger of the non-dominant hand is most suitable. While piercing, place your finger on a stable surface to prevent reflexive withdrawal. Applying a gentle squeeze and massaging towards the fingertip can facilitate blood flow.
