Details
Who should take the test?

Our immune system reacts to foods that are actually harmless, as if they were dangerous and it fights them. Most allergic reactions occur immediately after eating. One therefore speaks of an immediate type reaction. With our Food Allergy Test & IgG4 Screening, we examine foods that can trigger various symptoms.

The Food Allergy Test (IGE) analyzes the following allergens:

  • Meat mix (beef, pork, chicken, lamb)
  • Egg white
  • Codfish, salmon
  • Shrimp, crayfish
  • Cow’s milk, soy, mustard seeds
  • Wheat, rice, potato
  • Hazelnut, peanut, almond
  • Apple, orange, strawberry
  • Kiwi, peach
  • Tomato, carrot, celeriac

The IgG4 screening analyzes the following allergens:

  • Beef, pork, lamb meat
  • Chicken, turkey
  • Egg white, egg yolk
  • Codfish, salmon, tuna, shrimp
  • Cow’s milk, casein
  • Wheat, spelt, rye
  • Oats, rice, gluten
  • Baker’s yeast, soy
  • Peanut, walnut, hazelnut, almond
  • Potato, tomato, carrot, onion, celeriac
  • Apple, banana, kiwi
  • Strawberry, peach, orange
  • Coffee, black pepper, mustard seeds, sesame

With our Food Allergy (IgE) Test & IgG4 Screening, you can find out which foods your body is reacting to. You will receive a diet rotation plan, through which you can optimize your diet individually and thus counteract inflammatory processes in the intestine.

How does it work?

You take the samples at home, send them back to us and we will send you your result with information on how strongly your body reacts to the respective food. You can see this on a scale from 1 to 6. Grades 1 and 2 indicate a minimal to weak reaction, grades 3 and 4 indicate a slight to moderate reaction and grades 5 and 6 indicate a strong reaction.

What guidance will I get along with my results?

Your findings contain detailed information about your body’s reaction to the above allergens and whether this reaction is minimal, weak, mild to moderate, or strong. You can then discuss these results with your doctor or alternative practitioner, who can advise you on how to proceed and on the various therapy options.

Although we do not offer medical advice ourselves, we will gladly assist you in finding a suitable therapist in your area. Besides, further information is available on our website, especially in the different test categories, under “health conditions” and the FAQs. Still have questions? Then you can contact us by phone at +44 (0)20 3286 6316 or mail at contact@verisana.co.uk.

How is my privacy protected?

Samples for our tests are collected in the privacy of your own home. We and our partner laboratories (who may be contracted by us to conduct some or all analyses of your test) take customer privacy very seriously. Only you will have access to this information and we will not share your information with any not authorized third party. All samples are disposed of following analysis.

What is the difference between IGE und IgG4?

With the IgE antibodies, so-called "real" food allergies can be determined, where the body reacts immediately with symptoms. For example, with shortness of breath when you have a peanut allergy. With some foods, the body does not react with immediate reactions, but it does produce IgG4 antibodies. If you continue to consume these foods, in the long term, among other things, digestive problems or signs of inflammation such as joint pain can occur.

I am not getting enough blood from my finger, what can I do?

Prepare the blood draw well: Hold your hand a little longer under warm water and circle your arm to stimulate blood circulation. Prick the finger on the side, not directly on top of the fingertip. The middle or ring finger of the non-dominant hand is usually best. When piercing, place your finger on a firm surface to avoid unconscious pulling back. A light squeeze and massage towards the fingertip helps stimulate blood flow. Alternatively, blood can be taken from the earlobe or from the vein (at the doctor's).
