Externally, we differ in size, weight and physique. We also differ in hair colour, skin colour, eye colour and fingerprints.

These 3 types of metabolism exist

According to the theory of ‘metabolic typing’ every human being has a different need for carbohydrates, proteins and fats. Therefore, people can be divided into carbohydrate, protein and dual types. 

Protein Type 


The Protein Type metabolises carbohydrates faster than proteins. Attention: fast ≠ efficient. The rapid conversion of carbohydrates produces too much energy, which the body cannot use directly and therefore stores in the form of fat cells.

A diet rich in fat and protein, on the other hand, keeps protein types at a higher energy level for a longer period of time. This helps people with this type of metabolism, who normally have difficulty to lose weight, to control their weight and even to achieve an ideal weight.


Carbohydrate Type

The Carbohydrate Type metabolises carbohydrates more slowly than other metabolic types. Attention: slow = efficient. The body gets one small energy bite after another.

People with this metabolic type react less sensitively to sugar and have a stable blood sugar level. The consumption of larger amounts of animal fat and protein can lead to weight problems and an increased cholesterol level. A diet rich in carbohydrates or a vegetarian plant diet, on the other hand, helps the carbohydrate type to stay full for a longer period of time.


Dual Type

From a nutritional point of view the Dual Type is the simplest metabolic type on the one hand as this type metabolises both carbohydrates and proteins very well. On the other hand this type reacts very sensitively to nutritional imbalances. 

Dual types may listen to the signals of their body, but mostly they tend to consume either too many proteins or too many carbohydrates. People within this type should therefore pay more attention to a balanced diet consisting of high-quality protein, healthy fats and complex carbohydrates.
